The famous orange low budget airline has announced plans this week to begin selling package holidays through a new dedicated EasyJet holiday brand. The announcement follows a deal which the carrier has recently struck with Lowcost Travel Group - one of the UK’s leading online package holiday specialists. It’s hoped that the partnership will enable EasyJet to enter the package holiday market with all guns blazing.EasyJet’s dedicated holidays website Easyjet.com/holidays will launch in the UK some time in the early spring, although details of their products are still a closely guarded secret. When asked about the new offering, the airline’s Chief Commercial Officer Dana Dunne declined to give details, preferring to concentrate on their potential for success within the sector: “We have £1.3 billion in cash, 200 aircraft and one of the largest networks in Europe. This venture could potentially put us in the top three to five in the UK market.” You can see Dunne’s point too, with package holiday rivals Thomas Cook and Tui Travel only operating a fleet of 93 and 150 aircraft respectively.
