Emirates adds third daily flight from Manchester

The luxury, Middle Eastern airline Emirates has this week announced plans to add capacity at Manchester Airport with a third daily flight to Dubai from 1st May.

With the number of British tourists visiting Dubai up 9% last year, it comes as no surprise to the cheap airport parking team at Looking4Parking that Emirates has responded to the growing demand by upping its capacity.

The announcement from Emirates comes as fellow Middle Eastern airline Etihad also reveal plans to increase their 10 flight a week programme from Manchester Airport to 14.

The new Emirates service from Manchester will operate all year round, departing Manchester at 9.40am and returning overnight from Dubai to arrive in Manchester at 7.55am.

In an interview this week with a leading travel website, Emirates President for UK and Ireland Laurie Berryman said that the new arrival time into Dubai of 7.40pm local time would be popular with holidaymakers.

“It will allow them to be in their resorts by about 9-9.30pm and so they won't lose out on any of their holiday.”

“We brought the A380 to Manchester last September and it filled up very, very quickly,” he went on to add. “The A380 seems to have a magnetic effect - it pulls people across from other flights and airlines.”

“And agents have really got behind this. More and more people are realising that you don't have to go south to go long-haul. It will have excellent connections to the Indian sub-continent, Thailand and many other cities.”

While plans for how to market the new capacity at Manchester have still to be finalised, Berryman has made it clear that there would be some "excellent introductory offers" to raise awareness and because May is not traditionally the most popular time for Brits to travel.
