Jet2 unveils new route between Edinburgh and Malaga

Yorkshire no-frills carrier Jet2 has this week announced plans to begin running direct flights between Edinburgh and Malaga from spring 2011.

The new service will depart twice daily from Scotland’s capital and prices start from just £29.99 each way including taxes. The flights are due to begin on 2nd April – just in time for the Easter holidays – and can be booked now at Jet2.com.

As well as low cost flights to Spain’s Costa del Sol, Jet2 is also offering a new range of package holidays to Malaga and the surrounding area from Edinburgh Airport. Prices for their holiday packages - based on two people sharing - start from just £259 for a seven night break, including resort transfers, a generous 22kg luggage allowance and allocated seats.

It’s hoped that the new offering will prove popular with Scottish holidaymakers eager to enjoy a little of the famous Spanish sun.

When asked about the new route, Ian Doubtfire, Managing Director of Jet2.com, said:
