A recent survey carried out by Looking4Parking.com has revealed that 66% of passengers regularly save at least an hour by using our airport meet and greet parking - also known as airport valet parking.
Getting to and from the airport can be a bore. Couple your travel time with the hours spent hanging around in the airport pre and post-flight, and flying can be a tedious business. According to a new travel poll however, using a meet and greet or valet parking service to get to and from the airport may be the key to cutting down on wasted time.
The study - undertaken by compare airport parking company, Looking4Parking.com - revealed that 66% of passengers saved at least an hour by using chauffeur-met parking - with 32% claiming that they saved a whopping two hours.
The passengers interviewed included a mix of business and leisure travellers who regularly fly from Birmingham, Heathrow and Luton airports. 26% of those who took part cited ‘convenience’ as their main motivational factor for choosing meet and greet parking over park and ride or self-service on-site airport car parks.
20% meanwhile, gave the price as the main reason, and a further 7% said they used this type of parking to avoid transfers via shuttle bus.
The survey went on to assess the attitude of the passengers towards the UK Park Mark accreditation - the award given to car parks which meet the safety and security standards set by the UK police.
94% of travellers interviewed considered the presence or absence of the award to be an ‘important’ factor in influencing their choice of car park, while 67% said that it was ‘very important’ to them.
