Two new routes for Robin Hood Airport

Doncaster and Sheffield residents can start packing their bikinis this week as Robin Hood Airport announces two new low budget routes to Tenerife and Faro.

The two new services come courtesy of no frills carrier Ryanair who already provide a popular route to sunny Alicante from the busy regional airport. It’s hoped that the two new routes will offer additional scope for the region’s families to access cost effective holidays this summer by tripling the number of low cost seats available from Robin Hood with Ryanair.

Management at Robin Hood Airport are reported to be delighted with the announcement as it goes a long way in replacing many of the easyJet services which have just ceased running.

Nick Smillie, Aviation Sales Director for Peel Airports which own and operate Robin Hood, said: “Two new routes for 2011 with Ryanair is great news for Doncaster Sheffield Airport and the passengers who fly from South Yorkshire.”

“We were keen to replace the services lost following easyJet's withdrawal and these new services with Ryanair mean that passengers will continue to be able to take advantage of some great low fares to Faro and Tenerife in addition to the already popular Alicante route.”

“We are sure that passengers will be pleased that Ryanair are bringing more of their low fares to the region. The Alicante route they run from Doncaster Sheffield Airport is extremely successful and we anticipate that Tenerife and Faro will be just as popular,” added Nick.
