This week we finally launched our much awaited price bands functionality across our airport parking comparison websites. This was one of the main requests that our vendors have asked of us over the last 12 months and it was a major omission to not have included this in a previous release.
Unfortunately it wasn’t a particularly easy thing to build into the website retrospectively, and we’ve had to upgrade various other parts of our systems in order to bring this online.
The upgrade provides our systems with 2 key capabilities:
• A schedule enables our vendors to sell their products with price variations depending on the time of year – so for example one price for easter and another for summer.• Ability to block out certain date ranges – for instance if the vendor is a small operation and cannot work bank holidays or if the vendor is booked up and cannot accept bookings between specific dates but wants to continue to take bookings on other dates.
Each vendor can have as many price bands as is necessary for their business, and there is also the ability to reuse the same dates across multiple vendor schedules which will help our vendor management staff manage the content of the site more effectively.
In the future we may consider giving content access to certain vendors in order for them to manage and change their own prices, but this is something we have yet to take a decision on.
Hopefully, the price bands features is something that will build our supplier relationships and will also allow us to be more competitive on price at key booking periods.
The purchase area of the Looking4Parking website is secure - this means we use industry-standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to allow for the encryption of potentially sensitive information such as your name, address and other critically sensitive information like your credit card details.
