When it comes to cheap airport parking, you’ll find a whole range of options to choose from. To help you make sense of it all, one of our airport parking specialists will outline the differences between the most common packages below.
On-site airport parking
The most commonly-used airport parking service is on-site parking. At first glance it seems the easiest and most convenient option - after all, it does exactly what it says on the tin - you leave your car on the airport’s premises, in one of their official car parks.
The benefits of on-site parking include - a short journey from your car to the departure terminal, 24 hour security patrols, CCTV and a name you can trust.
Airport Meet and Greet parking
The second most popular option is to use an airport Meet and Greet parking service – ideal for saving you time and stress. Meet and Greet parking is very convenient as it allows you to drive right up to the terminal on your day of departure where you’ll be met a chauffeur – luxurious or what?!
As you grab your luggage and head straight off for the check-in desk, the chauffeur will transfer your car to a secure location - usually within 3 miles of the airport.
On your return to the airport, you’ll be met by a chauffeur again, who will be waiting for you at the terminal to handover your keys and give your car back. Simple!
Park and ride
The third most popular airport parking option is Park and Ride. With a Park and Ride deal, you usually drive your vehicle to a private car park, located near the airport.
Once you’ve parked your car in one of the car park’s allocated bays, you’ll then catch a shuttle service to the airport departure terminal. This is usually a 10 minute transfer leaving every 25 minutes or so.
Park and Ride car parks are mostly very secure with 24 hour security patrols and CCTV much like the other two options. The only difference is that they’re often located a little bit further away from the airport.
More often than not, Park and Ride options are the cheapest.
Shop around for the best deal
The only way to ensure that you get the deal which best suits your budget and requirements, is to shop around a little.
