There's recently been a tourism boom in Turkey, so just what are the reasons why people are going there?
People who are wanting an active holiday, now so more than ever, are often choosing Turkey as their destination. Other than the more traditional activities such as sailing and walking, tour operators are increasingly offering holiday makers the chance to go mountain biking, white water rafting, kayaking and scuba diving.
Along side the people who want to experience the more adrenalin filled activities are the people who still want to see the Turkish culture. More and more tours now include Eastern Turkey and the Black Sea Coast, two places where the tourist trade used to be less prominent.
Something which has also captured our eye has been the fairly recent openings of 'Cave Hotels', which are located in Cappadocia (a desert region). This appeals to the more adventurous holiday maker who ventures away from the coast in search of something a bit different.
If you're thinking of going during May (specifically the last week of the month) there is a music festival which is considered one of Turkey's top annual music events - Sun Splash Festival. This is yet another example of how popular music festivals abroad are getting.
Once there, travelling around Turkey is relatively cheap. If you're travelling in a big group or on your own then the public transport will definitely suffice, where as if you're with your family then hiring a car is more advisable just because of the greater flexibility... but be careful of the roads as some of them are particularly hazardous!!
Something else that's cheap but not at all hazardous is to use the UK's number one airport parking provider. At Looking4Parking there's a service which suits every type of holiday maker and every type of budget; so that sorts your car, now what about your destination...?
The purchase area of the Looking4Parking website is secure - this means we use industry-standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to allow for the encryption of potentially sensitive information such as your name, address and other critically sensitive information like your credit card details.
