Munich „Franz Joseph Strauß“ Airport lies approximately 28.5 km North East of Munich in the town of Erdinger Moos close to Freising. Currently this terminal primarily handles flights operated by the likes of Air France, British Airways, Condor and Air Berlin. Check-in for flights which may cause a security concerns takes place in Hall F on the Eastern side of the terminal, the only part of the terminal which operates a controlled entry system. Terminal 2 opened in 2003 and is equipped with 24 boarding bridges. Lufthansa and Star Alliance flights as well as those of their partners such as Germanwings, Croatia Airlines or Adria Airways (except for Lufthansa partner Condor) are operated from this terminal. In addition both commercial terminals, the airport also has a general aviation terminal from which private flights are operated from and where leisure aircrafts can take-off and land.
