About Milan-Malpensa airport

Milan Malpensa, the largest airport in the Milan Metropolitan area and is located 49 km from Italy’s fashion capital which is home to labels such as Gucci and Prada. The airport mainly serves the provinces of Lombardy, Piedmont and Liguria in Northern Italy.

Built around 2 terminals, Malpensa Airport is a major hub for the freight carrier Cargolux Italia and is a major cargo platform as well as an important passenger hub. An important number of airlines operate flight from this airport, including American Airlines, Alitalia, British Airways and Etihad Airways. Some of the most popular routes from Malpensa include New York JFK, Dubai, Naples and Barcelona.

Milan Malpensa has a rich history which stretches back to 1910 when the Caproni brothers flew their flying machine from the site on which the airport currently lies. However, it is not until 1948 that commercial operations really began at Malpensa, and in 1950 the first long haul flights were operated from this airport. Later between 1998 and 2008, the airport served as a main hub for Alitalia, Italy’s national carrier. After which the hub was moved back to Rome Fiumicino due to the high operating costs at Malpensa.

Passengers looking for alternative parking options within close reach of the airport can book one of the 24 car parks on offer at this airport. These include a selection of Park & Ride and Meet & Greet services.

The Aero Parking Park & Ride service is particularly popular amongst Looking4Parking customers. It is only 5 minutes away from terminal 1 on the free shuttle bus run by the car park. What’s more as the shuttle bus is on demand, passengers do not have to worry about missing their transfer, all they need to do is contact the car park for them to organise for the shuttle to drop them off at the airport terminal or to pick them up from there upon their return.
