Stansted is London’s 3rd busiest airport after Heathrow and Gatwick and 4th busiest in the whole of the UK. Stansted Airport has the peculiarity of not having any departure gates within the terminal building, instead passengers have to reach one of the 3 satellite buildings using the Automated People Mover system.
Stansted is an international airport run by the Manchester Airport Group. It serves as a base for many low-cost carriers including Ryanair. Other airlines operating flights from this airport include German Wings, Thomson Airways, Easyjet and Fly-Be. As is the case with many airports in the UK, Stansted first opened as an RAF base in 1943 and was used as a bomber base and maintenance depot until the end of World War 2. After it was decommissioned, Stansted was predominantly used for freight, however in 1969, the first terminal was opened and the airport did start handling passenger traffic. However, it no longer handles transcontinental flights, focussing instead on pan-european flights.
We currently offer a choice on 13 car parks to our customers catching a flight from Stansted Airport; all of which offer great value for money when benchmarked against our competitors. One of the most popular car parks amongst our customers is the JetParks Park & Ride service which is located only 3 miles from the airport and operates a shuttle bus every 15 minutes.
At Looking4Parking we take great pride in ensuring that when a customer parks their car at one of the car parks advertised on our website, they are sure their vehicle is securely kept for the entire duration of their stay. That is why our team of car park experts have carried a thorough inspection of all the car parks we have on offer at this airport.
